Rental leases and condominium by-laws have provisions to
protect residents from tobacco smoke. There is also a
federal law (the Americans with Disabilities Act) that
protects people with any
type of
disability that is made worse when exposed to secondhand
smoke. In addition, there are state laws that offer
protection as well.
