- Organized the Omaha petition drive which spurred the City
Council to enact a smoking ban
- Played strategic legislative role in Lincoln's citywide
smoking ban.
- Published Nebraska's first Guide to Smoke-Free
Dining.
- Urged the City of Omaha to pass Nebraska's first local
tobacco retailers ordinance.
- Instrumental in the Lincoln/Lancaster government
buildings becoming smoke free.
- Helped enact legislation to prohibit promotional
"giveaways" of chewing tobacco.
- Lobbied for a statewide law to eliminate almost all
tobacco vending machines.
- Statewide law was passed to make all commercial day-cares
smoke free.
